A friend asked me the other day what the "it" shoe for spring is and it's definitely the perforated bootie.
If you live in Pittsburgh like me, the weather has been legit crazy- snowing one day and a high of 30 with the next day being sunny and in the 50's. It really can't make up it's mind.
A bootie is the perfect shoe because it conceals your feet from the rain/snow of spring while the perforated detail is right on trend and keeps your feet airy and cool when the temps heat up.
My favorite brand/shoe are these. I have them in solid black and perforated grey and they are SO comfy. If you dare for an open toe, which I can't get enough of, these are magnificent.
And, booties are the best because they go with everything: cuffed jeans, ankle trousers, skirts, and dresses! Now go buy yourself a pair, or three.
I have been trying to eat "healthy-ish" for a few weeks now and it's not going so bad. My go-to for when I crave something sweet (all of the time!!) is this avocado chocolate mousse.
1 avocado, flesh removed from skin
2 medium bananas, peeled
2 tablespoons cocoa powder (I prefer Hershey's Special Dark)
1 teaspoon vanilla (I make my own with a vanilla bean and bourbon)
Pinch of salt
Pinch of cinnamon
Splash of water
Throw everything into a food processor and blend until smooth. Transfer to bowl and refrigerate until ready to indulge. When ready, top with your favorite treats. I have been topping mine with flax seeds (healthy) and coconut flakes, but you can also top with nuts, chocolate candy, chocolate pieces, and even more chocolate!
Recipe seriously adapted from one on Pinterest, but I can't find the link to it. Just trust.
